Pegasus – Men’s Wellbeing Centre: Referral Pathway Update
Demand for specialist mental health support for men continues to grow across the region. Last year, Pegasus provided 3,807 hours of counselling, with 60% delivered free of charge to those who could not otherwise access help. This year, we have already delivered 9,219 counselling hours — a testament to both the community need and the dedication of our team.
Due to a significant lack of external funding, we have had to update our referral pathway to ensure our limited resources continue reaching those most in need.
From 1 December 2025:
• Self-referrals will continue to be eligible for up to 6 free counselling sessions
• All new referrals made by professionals or organisations (e.g. GPs, social care, employers, charities) will require funding to be arranged by the referring agency before referral is made.
This update applies only to new referrals received from 1 December 2025 onwards.
Current clients and those already referred will continue under the existing arrangements.
This change enables us to maintain fairness, sustainability, and rapid access to support for the men who would otherwise go without.
